Orchard City Wealth Management, LLC is a fee-only advisor, which means we do NOT accept or receive any referral fees or commissions from third parties. We work as a fiduciary financial planner, requiring us to put our clients best interest first before the needs of the advisor or the firm.
Initial Engagement Fee
After our initial meeting and once we’ve had time to analyze your financial situation, we will generate a quote for services and provide you this quote during a second meeting. We determine the amount of hours anticipated to finish the initial engagement and multiply those hours by our hourly rate range of $225 to $350.
Wealth Management Fee
As a wealth management client, we feel our flat fee structure allows us to work with you free of conflicts.
There are two components to our flat fee structure…
Component 1: Based on Complexity
We’ve developed a proprietary complexity matrix that helps us determine how complex a client’s situation may be.
- A score of 8 to 14 points = $2,000 per year.
- A score of 15 to 22 points = $4,000 per year.
- A score of 24 to 30 points = $8,000 per year.
Component 2: Based on Assets
We will review the assets that we are managing for you and multiply that asset level by 0.50%.
If you choose to utilize an outside manager for portfolio management, this fee does not include the outside manager’s fee. The outside manager’s fee will be reviewed with you upon entering into an agreement with the outside manager or sub‐adviser.
A married couple who are both high‐income W2 employees, not retired, with a mortgage, a portfolio to manage and equity compensation have a complexity matrix score of 18, falling into the $4,000/year base fee.
In addition, assuming their investment portfolio is worth $850,000, the second part of their fee would be $4,250/year, calculated by multiplying $850,000 * 0.50%, for a total annual fee of $8,250 or quarterly of $2,062.50.
